The monument at the Dutch Reformed Church reminds the people of Oosterhesselen (municipality of Coevorden) in ten citizens who died in the struggle against the occupying forces during the Second World War.
The monument is a boulder with bronze letters. In front of the memorial is a plaque. The whole is placed on a raising of masonry stones.
The text on the boulder:
"Lest we forget
'40 - '45' "
The text on the plaque reads:
"IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO, IN WORLD WAR II
ARE FALLEN FOR THERE FATHERLAND"
CORNELIS DE KOCK, JOHANNES POST, BEREND JAN MEIJERING,WIEPKE VAN DER ZEE, HENDRIK ALBERTUS VEURINK, TEUNIS HOMME DE VRIES, HENDRIK LIP, EVERT EGGE POST, GERRIT ZWOLS, JOHANNES WINKEL.'
