This memorial is dedicated to the nearly 3,000 lost on 9/11.
The Wauseon Fire Department was chosen as 1 of 1500 departments to receive a 9/11 artifact. Unanimously it was decided the honour would be shared with all of Fulton County.
On June 17th 2011 the steel beam from the World Trade Center site made it's way to Ohio. The beam toured North-west Ohio to be honoured at several towns including Perrysburg, Maumee and Toledo.
Ground was broken on April 14, 2013 for this monument.
