Located south of Marietta, Lakeview Cemetery has approximately 5530 burials. We noted many Woodmen of the World headstones, and singled out a few for documentation.
W.S. Martin's headstone is a tall tree stump, with some minor embellishments. The crossed implements at the top are deeply engraved and tree-dimensional. Above the inscribed scroll which hangs from an engraved rope is a three-dimensional dove. At the base of the tree are two large leaf fronds.
The scroll is inscribed:

April 7 1871
Jan. 21, 1904A loving husband, a father dear,
A faithful friend lies buried here.
