Though we eventually succeeded, laying eyes on local Moomins required a bit of a search, primarily because we were looking in the wrong spot. We know not how many Moomin books are in the collection of the
Trail Public Library (which presently occupys space in the Trail Memorial Centre) but three were on the shelves, standing side by side - Moominland Midwinter, Tales From Moominvalley and MoominPapa at Sea. As one would logically conclude, they were filed in the juvenile section, under fiction at JF JAN.
Incidentally, at some indeterminate time in the future, if one were to go on a search for these Moomin books, they would have to begin their search about three blocks south of their present location. The Reason: a new library will soon be constructed in the city and the collection, Moomins and all, will then move to the new building.
