This Evansville, Wisconsin Aermotor water-pump windmill stands tall on the west side of Shady Rest Lane in Corinth, TX. It is no longer in use to lift well water to the surface but is still in good structural shape.
Typical to the American windmill, this sample features a wheel of large number of blades that slowly turned with considerable torque in low winds and were self-regulating in high winds. A tower-top gearbox and crankshaft converted the rotary motion into reciprocating strokes carried downward through a rod to the pump cylinder below.
"Evansville Wis" is painted on the tail.
