The fountain in the Place du Ralliement has a raised platform surrounded by a below ground level basin. Eleven evenly spaced jets of water fall back onto the platform and overflow into the basin. The two long sides of the fountain have 11 seating sections made of stone blocks which are divided by armrests. On the southwest side of the square the Grand Théâtre towers over the plaza and the fountain.
