The Blacksburg Bicentennial Time Capsule is located in a small park like setting at the intersection of Draper Road and Clay Street in the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia. The capsule is encased in a brick bench in 1998 when the town celebrated its bicentennial. The capsule will be opened during Blacksburg's 250th birthday celebration. The time time capsule construction and landscaping was donated by McCoy Funeral Home. The plaque affixed to the bench reads:
"In celebration of the Town of Blacksburg's Bicentennial, a time capsule containing items reminiscent of the Town in 1998 is enclosed within this bench. Citizens of the Town in 2048 are directed to open the capsule in celebration of the Town's 250th birthday. This time capsule is dedicated to the hundreds of Town citizens that contributed to the success of the Town's Bicentennial Celebration in 1998."
