Members of the Read_Veflin Post 180 and the citizens of town worked to put this memorial in place. It was totally financed by donations and surrounding the monument are bricks which were purchased by various persons and/or groups to help pay expenses.

Description of Memorial:
The memorial is about 6 feet high with inscriptions of each branch of service. The main column is black granite with two gray granite wings on each side.
Further west of this monument is a monument dedicated to each class of the high school that closed in the late 1980s.
