"A Candle lighting ceremony to honor Ryan Roofner will be held at the Owego Skatepark in Marvin Park on Nov. 13. Roofner lost his life in a car accident on Nov. 13, 2009. He touched many people in life and is missed dearly by his family and friends. Ryan was only 21 years old.

Saying that Ryan liked to skateboard a lot is quite an understatement. Ryan wanted to skate all the time. The greatest memories many have of skateboarding with him are the moments where they would stay out late at night, perfecting the tricks they learned throughout the day. These memories were the inspiration behind a candle lighting session to be held at the Owego Skatepark in memory of Ryan on Nov. 13.

The session will include lighted candles inside white bags that will illuminate the park, while helping to keep skateboarding in Owego alive. Help bring the community a skatepark that the youth in the area deserve for years to come."
