The Currents of Time exhibit explores 12,000 years of Jacksonville and northeast Florida's history from the days of the Timucuas (an American Indian tribe that came from the north and settled in Florida) to the 1960s.

On the wall above a display case is a poster for when Elvis came to the Florida Theatre in 1956. In the display case are covers for his Blue Hawaii and Girls Girls Girls albums; a photo of Elvis with a Jacksonville fan that was taken after his performance at the Gator Bowl in 1956; and a copy of the August 27, 1956, Life Magazine issue that included a 9-page spread on Elvis.
