The plaque is located on the west side of the park. There are amazing views from here. The plaque reads, "This park is named in honor of Kenneth Sampson, director of the Orange County harbors, beaches, and parks district from 1957 to 1975. Under his administration, Dana Point harbor was design and constructed, as well as many other significant park projects."
