Ce planétarium porte le nom d'Hubert Curien, "Père de l'Europe spatiale" avec entre autre le lancement d'Ariane. Il est situé dans le Jardin des Sciences, qui comprend le Planétarium, le jardin botanique et l’arboretum, ainsi que le Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle.

Une exposition permanente en accès libre "Des étoiles à notre Terre" permet de découvrir le système solaire de notre Planète, l'histoire et la formation de la Terre : Planète extraordinaire ou ordinaire ? Les phénomènes géologiques, l'atmosphère, les océans... de nombreux minéraux et roches sont exposées, surtout de Bourgogne. Des machines interactives permettent de créer une tornade par exemple.
