Im Rahmen der Hochwassersicherung unseres Ortes im Jahr 2006 musste die 100 Jahre alte Brücke über die Loisach abgetragen und durch eine neue ersetzt werden. Die größte Herausforderung war dabei, der Loisach ausreichend Durchflussraum unter dem Brückenbauwerk auch im Hochwasserfall zu schaffen. Aus diesem Grund musste die tragende Konstruktion der neuen Brücke nach oben über die Fahrbahn verlegt werden.
Mit Rücksicht auf die Umgebung mit ihren alten Bauernhäusern entwarf der bekannte Brückenbauer Richard J. Dietrich im Auftrag der Gemeinde Eschenlohe eine überdachte Holzbrücke. Das Haupttragwerk bildet dabei nach klassischem Vorbild ein sogenanntes Sprengwerk aus Leimholzbalken. Dieses Tragwerk ist für höchste Verkehrsbelastungen ausgelegt. Die darunter hängende Fahrbahn besteht aus einer filigranen Stahlbeton-Verbundkonstruktion. Die seitlichen Gehwege sind in einer Kombination von Stahl und Holz ausgeführt und mit einem hölzernen Dach überdeckt. Das Dach schützt gleichzeitig die Hauptkonstruktion aus Holz und Stahl gegen Witterungseinflüsse. Über der Fahrbahn ist das Dach offen, um auch hohen Fahrzeugen die Durchfahrt zu ermöglichen.

As part of the flood protection of our village in 2006 the 100-year old bridge had to be removed on the Loisach and replaced by a new one. The biggest challenge was to create sufficient flow space under the bridge structure. For this reason, the supporting construction of the new bridge had to be moved upwards on the road.
With regard to the environment with its old farmhouses of the famous bridge builder Richard J. Dietrich has designed a wooden covered bridge on behalf of the municipality Eschenlohe. The main structure forms in a classic style, a so-called truss of glulam beams. This structure is designed for high traffic loads. The hanging below pavement consists of a filigree steel-concrete composite construction. The side walkways are made of a combination of steel and wood and covered with a wooden roof. The roof also protects the main structure of wood and steel to weathering. Over the road, the roof is open to allow high vehicles to Transit.
