Ende März 2009 wurde die erste Solartankstelle der Stadt Frankfurt eröffnet. An der 'traffiQ-Verkehrsinsel' (dem Infopavillon der lokalen Nahverkehrsgesellschaft) an der Hauptwache sind sechs Steckdosen montiert, verziert mit stilisierten Zapfsäulen. Der Strom kommt von der Solaranlage auf dem Dach des Pavillons, die 18 Paneele erzeugen bis zu 21 Kilowattstunden Solarstrom pro Tag.
Werktags zwischen 9 und 20 Uhr sowie am Samstag zwischen 9.30 und 18 Uhr können die Besitzer von Velo Taxen, Segways und E-Bikes ihre Elektromobile kostenlos mit Solarstrom "betanken".
End of March 2009 was opened the first solar charging station im Frankfurt. At the 'traffiQ-Verkehrsinsel' (the information pavilion of the local public transport company) at the Hauptwache are six sockets mounted, decorated with stylized dispensers. The power comes from the solar system on the roof of the pavilion, the 18 solar panels produce up to 21 kWh of solar electricity per day.
Weekdays form 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m to 6 p.m., the owners of Velotaxis, Segways and electric bikes can "refuel" their electric vehicles for free with solar power.
