The second railroad depot for Itasca, this Victorian structure was built in 1895, fourteen years after the town was founded along a line of the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railroad.

This was a combination depot for both freight and passengers. It served as a depot until the late 1960s. In 1972 it was moved to its present site and is now used as a museum.

It is now the Depot Heritage and Education Center. The museum's exhibits include: •Switzer Woman's College and Conservatory memorabilia •Extensive collection of photos and newspaper clippings depicting the history of Itasca •China from local Presbyterian and Methodist churches •Display of old dental equipment •Itasca Cotton Mill and Itasca Weavers Guild memorabilia •Railroad station memorabilia, including the freight room and equipment
