Apricots decorate this utility box complete with leaves, branches and "Communities In Bloom" as part of the upper portion of the box.

Oliver has participated the international Communities In Bloom program for several years. Many of the communities throughout the Okanagan Valley are also involved.

Ah, Apricots by far my favorite. Though not as popular as apples or peaches; the apricot is sweet and juicy. Kissed by the sun some apricots have a blush enhancing the beauty when hanging on the tree.

The lower part of the Okanagan Valley, where Oliver is located, is one of the best areas to grown apricots. Its mild winters, early springs and warm climate is ideal for growing this manna from heaven. Apricots are one of the first to bloom in the spring.

Typically the Goldbar, Tomcot, Perfection, Sundrop and Tilton are grown is this area.

My best guess the ones featured are Perfection, one of the oldest varieties in the Okanagan.
