The track, marked as "Nerong Lookout Road", on my GPSr mapping, has been blocked off, so a few kilometres of walking, or cycling (MTB) would be necessary.
As I walked it at night time, I am sure it is doable by a keen trig hunter. The path is getting very overgrown, with hundreds of 'ten-year-old' saplings in the middle of the path in places. There is also a section where the track has been washed away - despite HUNDREDS of berms along the way.
When you get to the saddle the track 'slackens off' and becomes a bit rocky. But the steel post, intact name plate, and undamaged semi-circular vanes make up for it!
I believe this is on the Bulahdelah topo map, by 200 m (or 8 mm on the map)
