Margaret Mitchell died in 1901 aged 71. Margaret and her husband Robert Mitchell arrived in Australia from Scotland. Robert was a stonemason, who crafted this headstone, and many more around this district.

Here Resteth the mortal remains of Margaret Mitchell obit April 26, 1901 Etat 71. A native of N.B. Wife and mother Without reproach. In loving memory of Robert Allan Mitchell Who died at Clunes, Richmond River, Jan 29, 1916 aged 82 years Native of Scotland In loving memory of Lockhart L Mitchell Son of above Died Sept 12, 1944 aged 72 years
