This altar is set between a set of reliefs and on a stone floor. The background is made up with stones and plants. The altar itself is made of a cement slab on two short columns. This is one of at least two outdoor altars at the Grotto.
The Grotto's website (visit link) has a photo showing people attending the outdoor mass at one of the altars...unclear if it is this one or the other.
"The Sunday noon Mass is held outdoors in The Grotto Plaza, weather permitting.
Weekdays: 12 noon
Saturday: 8 a.m."
