"Or, an Eagle with dragon's tail displayed Sable, crowned, beaked, langued, membered and tailed Gules bearing an Escutcheon Gules three Mullets Or in pale." (Flags of the World)

The flag of Brig-Glis was created in 1972 after the merger of the municipalities Brig, Glis, Gamsen and Brigerbad. Then the escutcheon with the coats of arms of Glis was added to the eagle of the old flag of Brig. The old flags of the two smaller municipalities Gamsen and Brigerbad were dropped to keep it simpler. The four old flags are still present in the now town districts. I could not find any documentation about the meanings of the parts.

I found this flag in the courtyard of Stockalper Castle, the landmark of Brig, and town hall since the 1950s.
