In 1929, Conrad Hilton built his eighth Hilton Hotel in his chain in Marlin. It was a nine-floor, 110 room hotel, which could be seen for miles from the city limits of Marlin.

The former hotel is still called the "Falls Hotel" but it now houses a restaurant, a hair salon, and other businesses on the first floor. The remainder of the structure stands empty.
