"The nearly 3-acre park has been a process spearheaded by the Owego Dog Owner’s Group (ODOG); ...funding by Adam Weitsman of Upstate Shredding – Weitsman Recycling. The project was also done with in collaboration between ODOG and the Town of Owego...Weitsman’s sister, Rebecca (Becky), passed away in September 2001 and was an avid dog lover. Weitsman, in honor of his sister, donated the funding for the park to serve as a tribute to his sister, and as a gift to the community."

"Additionally, ODOG will schedule work parties in the spring and fall to complete routine landscaping maintenance such as filling holes, reseeding and clean up in and around the dog park area. Cost of waste bags is estimated at $700 annually. All costs associated with dog park maintenance will be funded by donations secured by ODOG."
