The Didsbury Fire Department is a volunteer department whose members are "on-call" 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The DFD provides a wide range of services to the Town and surrounding areas. These services include, but are not limited to: fire suppression (structural, vehicle and wild land), assisting Alberta Health Services with medical calls (first and/or co-response), responding to and investigating alarm bell calls (fire and carbon monoxide alarms), motor vehicle collisions, and providing mutual aid to our neighbouring municipalities.
The DFD meets every Wednesday evening from 7:00 pm to approximately 9:00 pm, during which time we are continually training and improving the skills necessary to serve our community.

The DFD is continually looking for new applications and individuals who are interested in serving the Town of Didsbury and surrounding Mountain View County.
Tender 360
This apparatus is the rural water supply. It responds to all fire calls (structural, wild land, vehicle) as well as rural alarm and service calls. It also responds to all rural motor vehicle collisions (MVC), as a Safety Support Vehicle - it helps provide traffic control and protects the other apparatuses and firefighters on-scenes. It is equipped with a non-fire rated pump (1,150 L/min), a 7,000 litre water tank, 2 portable tanks that can be deployed to set up rural water sources for our Engines, 2 portable pumps and other equipment. It has pump and roll capabilities.
Rescue/Command 330
This apparatus is the rescue/command unit. It responds to all medical calls, fire calls, MVC's, alarm (fire and carbon monoxide), and service calls with the Town and County. It may be requested for any other large scale event (i.e. large wild land fire) to be used as a Command Centre by Incident Command. It is equipped with medical equipment, extrication (Jaws of Life) equipment and spare SCBA bottles and other equipment.
Engine 320
This apparatus is the primary engine. It responds to all fire calls, alarm and service calls within the Town and County. It may be requested to respond to MVC's by Incident Command. It is equipped with a dual stage fire pump (5,000 L/min), a 3,400 litre water tank, a 135 litre Class "A" foam tank, front bumper mounted turret (475 L/min), top mounted deck gun (5,000 L/min), rear high pressure booster line and other equipment. It has pump and roll capabilities.
Engine 321
This apparatus is the secondary engine. It responds, as the second engine, to all fire calls, alarms and service calls within Town. It is the primary engine for all MVC's within the Town and County. It can also be requested as a secondary engine to fire calls within the County by Incident Command. It is equipped with a single stage fire pump (5,000 L/min), a 3,650 litre water tanks, a 135 litre Class "A" foam tank, top mounted deck gun (4,000 L/min) and other equipment.
Bush Buggy 340
This apparatus responds primarily to wild land fires. It may be requested as an additional resource for structure fires, MVC's by Incident Command. It is also used to transport personnel to and from scenes. It is equipped with a Wildfire slip-in that has a low volume pump (<1,000 L/min), 1,350 litre water tank, 45 litre foam tank and other wild land firefighting equipment. It has pump and roll capabilities.
