The marker includes text in both English and Swedish. The English text reads:
"Due south is Strömmen and the Old Town, the earliest centre of Stockholm. The Royal Palace stands there, as did the old castle of Tre Kronor (Three Crowns) until it burned down in 1697. On the other side of the water are the cliffs of Södermaim. In Strömmen the fresh water of Lake Mälaren blends with the salt water of the Baltic Sea. To the right is the Opera House, built in the 1890s on the site of Gustav III's opera house. To the left one can glimpse Skeppsholmen, the National Museum, and the white archipelago boats at Blasieholmen quay. Close to the sign is a statue of the warrior king Karl XII. Behind you is the former cabbage patch and kitchen garden of the Tre Kronor castle -- now Kungsträdgården, the great living room of the city. You are in the very centre of Stockholm."
