The plaque reads:
"OTONABEE RIVER TRAIL is a millennium Project of the city of Peterborough on the occasion of the city;s 150th anniversary. This waterfront project celebrates the natural and cultural heritage of the area. Otonabee river trails is an integral part of the National Trans Canada Trail."
Millennium Park is a focal resting place on the Trans Canada Trail with its variety of amenities. There are also many features of the park including the Irish Monument, The Steve Chaisson Pond, Aboriginal monument, Bereaved Families Butterfly Garden and many trees and benches in memorial.
