The board is located at the foot of one of the longest wooden flights of steps in the county.
The trail involves a mildly strenuous walk along the side and on top of the Croft quarry shielding bank which is now a rich habitat for various flora and fauna. On a clear day the elevation at the top of the shielding bank provides impressive views of the South Leicestershire landscape and villages.
