This mark located on the SW side of the Niagara River - in Ontario - is in the database of the National Geodetic Survey.

It has been moved to non-published status ('O-Outside NGS publication area') since my recovery on 8/18/2011.

Description information pulled from geocaching.com's circa 2000 copy of the NGS datasheet is as follows:

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL OCEAN SERVICE 1982 (RHH) THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE WESTERN SHORE OF THE CHIPPAWA CHANNEL OF THE NIAGARA RIVER SOUTH OF THE ENTRANCE TO BAKER CREEK.

TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE BRIDGE OVER THE WELLAND RIVER IN TOWN OF CHIPPAWA, GO SOUTH AND EAST ON THE NIAGARA PARKWAY FOR 17.0 KM (10.6 MILES) TO SCHWEGLER ROAD ON THE RIGHT AND THE STATION ON THE LEFT.

THE STATION IS A BLANK DISK STAMPED---D 1982---, SET INTO THE TOP OF A ROUND CONCRETE MONUMENT 30 CM IN DIAMETER RECESSED 5 CM BELOW THE GROUND. IT IS LOCATED 14.26 METERS (56.8 FT) NORTH FROM THE CENTERLINE OF THE JUNCTION OF NIAGARA PARKWAY AND SCHWEGLER ROAD, 1.426 METERS (4.68 FT) SOUTH FROM THE TOP OF THE WOODEN STAIRWAY DOWN TO THE BOATHOUSE, AND ON LINE WITH CENTERLINE OF SCHWEGLER ROAD.

HEIGHT OF LIGHT SHOWN ABOVE THE MARK WAS 1.48 METERS.
