Spring Valley School - Sarcoxie, MO - One-Room Schoolhouses on Waymarking.com

Not much is known about this school, since web searches only show "hits" in the usual "locator-type" web pages that tell you what you already know -- where something is! The topographic maps show the school here. It is obvious by looking at this home that it was formed from the Spring Valley School, and has had an entrance (or "mud") room added to the front right; otherwise it would still be beautifully symetric.

Many former one-room schools were transformed into homes. Some were left to fall apart. Many were re-used as community centers (which they may have functioned as back in the day). I know of one that has even been reworked into a shop building.
