Cruft's Division - Granger's Corps
Brig. Gen. Charles Cruft.
Nov. 25, 1863, 5 P.M.
2d Brigade - Brig. Gen. Walter C. Whitaker.
3d Brigade - Col. William Grose.

Division followed Osterhaus in the march of Hooker's column from Lookout Mountain, and at 4 p.m. it had penetrated Rossville Gap until its center was on the prolongation of the enemy's line on the crest of Missionary Ridge. Here it formed, facing the flank of that line, with Grose's Brigade in advance and Whitaker's in support. In moving forward it met the enemy's skirmishers advancing down the Ridge, and soon after carried the summit. Advancing astride of the Ridge, it reached this point about 5 p.m. and continuing northward, arrived in the vicinity of the position carried by the 14th Corps and bivouacked for the night.
