Beilen - During the midsummer night on Friday June 19 Beilen is in the grip of rubber ducks.

A hundred huge inflatable rubber ducks will race in the port of Beilen, assisted by the local firemen. The presentation is in the hands of Aaldert Oosterhuis RTV Drenthe.
The Ducks have been "adopted" by the industry in the region and will provide a starting number on their heads and a logo on their sides to defend the colors of their sponsors.
At half past eight is the start and the race will start. Proceeds from the race will be entirely at the Drenthe Vacation Week. That's a short holiday for children from disadvantaged families, organized and supervised by volunteers from the Red Cross in Drenthe.

Then, 2,500 of little rubber ducks in action. On that same June 19, customers with every purchase in one of the participating stores a chance card with a number. The same numbers are also on the rubber ducks that Friday the fight going on with each other.
If one of the rubber ducks which first across the finish line is the same number as your chance card, you have won a prize.
