The Brevard Zoo in Melbourne is home to a family of six giraffes which roam free on five acres. Visitors can feed the giraffes carrots, sweet potatoes and specialty crackers. The food given to the giraffes is closely regulated.

You walk up onto a platform so you are eye to eye so to speak with these beautiful animals. The giraffes tongue in very long and strong. We fed the youngest member of the group. All the giraffes have an opportunity to come visit the feeding area, but they limit access to one at a time to prevent them crowding each other away from the food.
