What make this unusual...there is NO golf course with 20 miles of the sign....why is it here?

This sign is along side the road west bound just before a goat farm....in a residential area.
No sign of a golf course, and in Google map no golf course within miles.
It is a local joke, because no one has EVER seen a glof cart on any of the road here abouts...
I have good scouting reports since my son lives on Garnet Ridge Road.
