Rathmines War Memorial is a white painted concrete cross, on a double octagonal base with three marble tablets, two of which are inscribed with the names of the men who enlisted from Rathmines in World War One and a star against those of the fallen.
The foundation stone for the memorial was laid by General Sir William Birdwood on the 2nd January 1920 and was unveiled by Councillor T.W. Paisley on the 12th December 1920.
Rathmines was the original name of the estate and was changed to East Bunbury in the 1940's
The inscription on the middle tablet reads :-

On the lower level is the foundation stone inscribed with :-
