Die Kirche wurde nach Entwürfen des Regierungsbaumeisters Teichmüller im neoromanischen Stil errichtet und 1898 eingeweiht. Der rote Klinkerbau hat als Grundriss ein griechisches Kreuz und einen 53 Meter hohen Vierungsturm, in dem drei Glocken zum Gebet und zu den Gottesdiensten rufen. Besonders markant an der Außenseite der Melanchthonkirche sind die reiche Gliederung und die mit Stufengiebeln überbauten großen Rosettenfenster, die in die vier Himmelsrichtungen weisen. Innen, besonders im Altarraum, staunt man über die reiche Ausmalung der Kirche im Nazarener Stil. Über den Trägern der Emporen sind die für Anhalt wichtigsten Männer der Reformation abgebildet: Martin Luther, Philipp Melanchthon und Fürst Georg. Auf der Orgelempore steht die von Wilhelm Rühlemann aus Zörbig erbaute romantische Orgel mit 13 Registern und zwei Manualen.

The church was built to designs by the architect government Teichmüller in a Neo-Romanesque style and inaugurated in 1898. The red brick building has proclaimed as a Greek cross plan and a 53 meter high central tower, in which three bells to prayer and to the services. Particularly striking on the outside of the Melanchthonkirche are the rich structure and the built-up with stepped gables large rose window, facing the four cardinal directions. Inside, particularly in the chancel, one is struck by the rich decoration of the church in the Nazarene style. About the makers of the galleries of the most important figures of the Reformation Anhalt are shown: Martin Luther, Philipp Melanchthon and Prince George. On the organ loft is built by Wilhelm Rühlemann from Zoerbig romantic organ with 13 stops and two manuals.
