This is a bronze plaque mounted to a vertical headstone, sitting on the ground to the left of the entrance to this historical museum. The plaque reads:

Near this site, the third and present town of Claremore was
located in the fall of 1882
Upon extension of the Saint Louisand San Francisco Railroad ("Frisco")
from Vinita to this point in the Cooweescoowee District of the
Cherokee Nation
Dedicated by the
Centennial Committee of the
Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce
1982
