The memorial is behind a fence. It has a relic of the USS Arizona. The plaque next to it reads: "USS Arizona Memorial. Dedicated May 31, 2004. By the people of the Kern River Valley to the people of the United States of America and to those who served her. This memorial was made possible by so many people who gave their time and talent to protect and preserve these artifacts of the USS Arizona and we are truely grateful."
