Text on the monument:
On 9/14/1883 the 183 in Steele living Jews inaugurated the synagogue at the Isinger Tor in Steele. In direct neighbourhood to the Jewish public school.
In the night to 10th of November 1938 (Progromnacht) this synagogue was burnt down by the nazis. Later on it had been demolished.
