This Flowering Malus "John Downie"
was first planted in St Paul's churchyard
on 19th January 2000 by His Honour Judge Cryan
Master of the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers
to mark the start of the 3rd Christian Millennium
but was moved to this site in 2009
The Malus is a crabapple tree and John Downie is one of the species. The straight line distance from St Paul's churchyard to the current location is about 600 metres.
