Sept. 24, 1909.

Bartow County for 62 years

(proper left base): He served eight terms in Georgia Legislature, also six terms in National Congress.
A fearless Patriot.
a spotless Record.
FLETON
(proper right base): Preached the first sermon ever delivered in Cartersville. He located the first church opposite this monument and gave noble and gratuitous service as a minister for half a century.

(rear base): This shaft of remembrance is a gift from his wife to those who he served so long and loved so well.
