The pump does not have an inscription but is thought to date from the second quarter of the 19th century. It was installed by George Burt in 1881 and is made from cast iron.

There is an information board next to the pump and the bowl is now a flower planter.

On the other side of the lock-up is an old London Bollard. These were originally installed on street corners in London. They stopped carriages mounting the pavements during the Regency period. After they were no longer needed many were brought to the coast to be used as ballast in the returning stone boats.
