In South Kingstown, within the main campus of the University of Rhode Island, is this quill weathervane on top of Green Hall.

Green Hall is located south of the campus quad. The main entrance to the university is on Upper College Road, off RI Route 138 (there is a URI sign at the intersection). We parked in a public lot east of the Fine Arts Building, which may not be the closest place to park. Watch for signs that may be reserved for faculty, etc. Green Hall is south of Ranger Hall, which faces the quad.

Green Hall is a brick building with a peaked roof, and a cupola set in the center of the roof. The cupola has a clock with a face on each side, the a gold leaf roof, then the weathervane at the top. The quill is very long and extends well beyond the cardinal points.

The building was built in 1937 as the university's first full featured library and administration building. In the 1950s a new library was built. Around 2001, the building went through a renovation. Presently, it is now the Office of Enrollment Services.
