This station is a U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey standard bench mark disk, located in New Milford, CT. It is located at the historic Boardman's Bridge, which spans the Housatonic River, situated between U.S. Route 7 and the Housatonic Railroad tracks. The mark is set in the northeast wingwall of the bridge:

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1935 2.5 MI NW FROM NEW MILFORD. 2.5 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG THE NEW YORK, NEW HAVEN AND HARTFORD RAILROAD FROM THE STATION AT NEW MILFORD, LITCHFIELD COUNTY, AT BOARDMANS BRIDGE, AT 100-FOOT STEEL HIGHWAY BRIDGE NO. 46.56 OVER HOUSATONIC RIVER, IN THE NORTHEAST END OF THE NORTHEAST WINGWALL, 27 FEET WEST OF THE WEST RAIL, AND 2-1/2 FEET LOWER THAN THE RAIL. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED U 15 1935.

You can also approach this station from New Milford center by way of U.S. Route 7 along the west side of the river traveling north, or Boardman Road along the east side of the river, traveling north. The iron bridge is closed to traffic now, and has been bypassed by a modern concrete span to the immediate south of it. The mark is located exactly as described, in the north end of the northeast wingwall, and easily accessible. There is parking space available at both ends of the old bridge. Beware of the railroad, as it is active.

When recovering this mark, please consider logging it on both this site and the Geocaching site. Thank you.
