This station is a National Geodetic Survey standard vertical control mark, located in New Milford, CT. It is set in the shelf of a large rock outcrop, near the southbound side of U.S. Rt. 7.:

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1984 1.9 KM (1.2 MI) SE FROM GAYLORDSVILLE. 1.9 KM (1.2 MI) SOUTHEAST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 7 FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 55 IN GAYLORDSVILLE TO THE MARK ON THE RIGHT, 0.1 KM (0.05 MI) SOUTHEAST OF THE JUNCTION OF CEDAR HILL ROAD, BETWEEN UTILITY POLES 265 AND 266 ON OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, 5.18 METERS (17.0 FT) SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE MARK IS 0.33 METERS SSE FROM A WITNESS POST. THE MARK IS 0.91 M ABOVE HIGHWAY.

Traffic on this roadway is rather high, and it is relatively narrow in spots up this way. Parking is limited, but not impossible.
In this case, park on the same side of the road and just past the mark, at a pull off just before the curve.

Wait for all traffic to pass before attempting a recovery.
Think ahead, be safe.
