It is an impressive memorial beside Grillo Gymnasium, which is another monument in our town.
Here they are honoring the war victims of Turner Club 1874 of the two
World Wars.
It was built in 1924 and became a monument on 7/3/1986.

Carved in stone you can read:

"Zum Gedächtnis unserer im
Weltkiriege 1914-1918 gefallenen
7 Turnbrüder
TREUE UM TREUE
Gelsenkirchen am 50.Jahres-
tag der Vereinsgründung
27. Juli 1924
