This redwood tree is located at Holy Cross Church in the historic district of Santa Cruz. Here, this tree was planted on December 3, 2000 and has grown little since then. Because it is a redwood, they grow very slowly, but can live past 2,000 years old. Who knows? This tree may destroy the church in the year 4,000. The plaque says, "Dawn Redwood [Metasequoia glyptostrobides] Planted in Celebration of Jubilee 2000 and Michael A. Marini, Pastor and Friend. December 3, 2000"
