Charles Dickens' "Sketches by Boz" is a collection of Charles Dickens' earliest writings...some are nonfiction observances of London life and others are fictional sketches.
In one of the fictional accounts, "The Drunkard's Death", the main character, the drunkard, literally hits bottom..... and commits suicide by jumping off the Waterloo Bridge.
