Le Rhône is a 812 km long river which flows through Switzerland and France. It is the largest river of France.

The Rhone rises in the Swiss canton of Valais in the Rhone Glacier and flows into the Mediterranean Sea at the Camargue. In the city of Arles the Rohne divides in the Petit and Grand Rhone. The delta Camargue is formed by the Great Rhone in the east and the Little Rhone in the west.

The river was named by the Greeks. Settlers of the island of Rhodes gave it its name. From the mouth of the river Greeks and later Romans conquered France.

To visit the mouth of the river, you can walk from the beach Peamonson. You have to walk along the sandy beach.
