William R Forbush designed this school, as well as the Abbott Street School in Worcester. The building was constructed by WF Dearborn at a cost of $35,000.

The school is primarily of brick construction with yellow brick trim. The school is basically a rectangular structure with a center semi-circle tower bay serving as the entrance. The actual doors flank the circular tower with yellow brick arch trim.
