The Erie Canal once passed along this street in Syracuse, NY. Today it is the home of the last weighlock building on the planet. The weighlock building has been converted to the Erie Canal Museum. Convenient bicycle tenders are located only a few feet away on the corner of E. Water St. and Montgomery Street.
Three tenders are arranged to form a vignette of the Old Erie Canal. On the right is a mule that pulled the canal boats. The next two tenders form the front and back of a canal boat. To insure that these sculptures are recognized as bicycle tenders the word BIKE is added to the upper left corner of the last tender.
