Master Corporal Darrell Jason Priede
April 2, 1977 - May 30, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of Master Corporal Darrell Jason Priede announces that he was killed when the helicopter he was flying in crashed while conducting operations in Helmand Provence, Afghanistan. Darrell, a Canadian Forces Imagery Technician was in Afghanistan capturing imagery of the Canadian and NATO forces efforts to bring stability and development to the Afghan nation.

Also at the courthouse are a small cairn and a school bell that are of interest. We have also found a dedicated bench for Master Corporal Darrell Jason Priede in Grand Forks, and, as well, a plaque attached to the Black Bridge in Grand Forks. The City of Greenwood is Canada's smallest City, nestled in the heart of the Kootenay Boundary region of beautiful British Columbia. In 1942, 1200 Japanese Canadians were sent to Greenwood as part of the Japanese Canadian internment transfer program.
